Mary Ann’s Moist Delicious Cornbread

When I began this blog my original intent was to post, not only my recipes, but those of others as well. Here’s one from my dear friend Mary Ann that I’m sure you’ll love, I call it Mary Ann’s Moist Delicious Cornbread.  If you’ve ever had a piece of dry cornbread you know it’s a less than pleasant experience, and there’s no amount of chili or soup dunking that can make it better!  Mary Ann’s recipe is quite the opposite and oh so delicious.  It will complement your favorite soup or chili recipe wonderfully, so be sure to give this one a try!  Many, many thanks to Mary Ann for allowing me to share for all to enjoy!

You will need…
1 C. flour
1 C. cornmeal
¼ C. sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 C. heavy cream
¼ C. melted butter
3 Tbsp honey
2 eggs, lightly beaten
In a medium bowl stir together flour, cornmeal, sugar and baking powder.
Next add the remaining wet ingredients until well-combined and pour into a greased 9” baking pan.
Place in a 450 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.   Happy eating!!!!
Almost forgot the butter…

Mmmm cornbread. You're right, there is NOTHING worse than dry cornbread, thanks for the awesome recipe! I also saw your guacamole recipe while browsing your blog and will totally be trying it for a barbeque this weekend.

Oh yum! With the cream and honey, I bet it's moist with a little touch of sweetness and fabulous!

Jen at The Three Little Piglets says:

The key is that it's a mixture of flour and cornmeal – keeps it more cakey than dry and crumbly. Tastes great with a little maple syrup instead of honey as well!
